December 2007-March 2008. Kirk is presently working in Antartica filming in temperatures rangein from -5 to -35 degrees celsius. He is filming the first season of building of the new space age scientific research station Halley VI on the Brunt ice shelf. Kirk is a solo cameraman for this job and is also responsible for his own safety and many otheres. He is also taking scientists into the deep Antarctic on snow mobiles and aeroplanes (advising the pilot on safe landing locations).

October 2007: Kirk is presently preparing to head off yet again to Antarctica. His goal is to film the initial stages of construction of the new British Antarctic Survey research station, Halley 6. Kirk will be working as principal cameraman for the project, recording footage to be used in a 3 part documentary charting the progress of this extraordinary building project. Alongside his film work Kirk will also be responsible for training new BAS recruits and venturing to deep field research sites to ensure the safety of the scientists.

21st September 2007: Kirk is out and about this week acting as a canoe guide for BBC Radio Scotland as they travel the length of the river Tay. The program will be looking at the river’s past and present and is due to be aired in January 2008.

February 2007: Kirk advises on safety and acts as second cameraman for ITN during their stay in Antarctica. Kirk also provides safety advice and guiding for HRH Princess Anne on her visit to Antarctica.
